Maj. Marcia C. Simon currently serves as the director of force management for the 108th Training Command (IET) in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is originally from the U.S. Virgin Islands and grew up in Antigua, bringing a diverse Caribbean background to her military service. Simon graduated from the University of Tampa in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and was commissioned into the United States Army Reserve through ROTC that same year.

Over the course of her career, she has served in a wide range of leadership and staff positions, including director of force management, systems integrator, plans officer and company commander. Her operational experience includes deployment assignments in Bagram, Afghanistan, where she served as an assistant theater operations officer and Battalion S2. Simon has also completed numerous military courses, including the Functional Area 50 Qualification Course, How the Army Runs and the Logistics Captain Career Course. Her performance and dedication have earned her several military awards, including the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal and multiple Army Commendation and Achievement Medals. With a strong foundation in force management, logistics and leadership, Simon continues to make significant contributions to the United States Army Reserve.

The University of Tampa has a long-standing culture of excellence, which extends to the award-winning Army Reserve Officers Training Corps program. Army ROTC was a big part of Simon’s UTampa experience and instilled in her the value of selfless service.

This year, she is happy to support Army ROTC by raising funds to enable cadets to participate in the annual Army 10-miler, allowing cadets to experience an Army esprit-de-corps tradition. It also provides an opportunity for them to connect with Army leaders and soldiers and get a feel for the culture. Providing this experience is both a reward and a reinforcement of the physical fitness required of our future officers.

#RallyTheSpartans and join her in supporting the cadets of the Spartan Battalion! THANK YOU!Ìý
